Hi All
I am after adjustable harness lines that are NOT the quick fix ones. I don't like the bulky attachment of the quick fix, and I cannot get them to sit still for any length of time.
The new Severne adjustable lines and the new Starboard adjustable lines both look great in terms of the adjustable system they're using, especially the Starboard ones, they really look like they will not slip and alter the length in use BUT BUT BUT they're the quick fit ones :-(
I'm surprised that I'm the only one with the issue/want, would assume I'm not gonna get lines made by starboard / severne just for me, so I guess a) who else wants them, and b) are any other brands doing this?, c) does anyone have a recipe for DIY lines?

If you don't need to adjust them while sailing (no need for the cleat), the Dakine are excellent as well:

Usually, I use the Ions for course racing and the Dakine for wavesailing and they are both of great quality.
^^^ do either of these options creep while sailing? Adjustables I have had in the past always got longer and longer during the course of the day.

NP Vario race. Used them for years, no slipping, swinging........ I've tried a few other brands but much prefer the NP's.
i usually get 3 to 4 years out of them before the Velcro starts to get knackered.

No quick fix. You could fit them without taking the tail off the boom of you undo the rope but it's a lot easier to slide them by the back.

It all depends how you make the knot to attach them.

I use the fixed Neil pryde ones now after using the vario harness lines for many seasons. The Neil pryde vario have a real problem with breakage if you are a heavy sailor sailing powered up. I have broken three or four sets, and they never break at a good time, always annoying. They may be ok for lighter sailors/ladies doing speed or slalom or for foiling or gentle sailing. The shop says they are a consumable and don't last forever, hmmmm.
If you really like slow fix then Japanese brand Advanced Technology AD-4C adjustable harnesslines are great, except it is very very very tight to get the boom thru the harness loops when using North Sails Platinum booms as those booms are pretty fat. But those ones are nice, as you can easily change the lines if they wear out one day and their V-shaped cleat is super - it wont ever slip! But I use new (yellow ones - the orage ones were horrible - all orange ones were slipping all the time) Point-7 Vario harness lines. They are quick fix type and they wont slip any either! And P7 has lines every 2" separation i.e. 22-28, 24-30, 26-32, 28-34, 30-36....
