The gybe at 9-15 is what most sailors dream of.

Rotating the sail over without holding the mast is the biggest stumbling block to fast full planning gybes - for most I suspect.

Never once have I managed to rotate the sail without first grabbing the mast. A very bad habit.

Robbie always grabs the mast and swings it across on every jibe.

Is that stumbling block because you are rotating the sail without moving your front hand right up to the mast?

The question is 1.how fast is good racing gybe and if can meet alpha 500m criteria.
2.If technique of racing gybe will exactly the same the GPS sailors apply? If not .,what could be main difference?
We could assume that in both instances water is almost perfectly flat
