mostly in Cairns i'm guessing, haven't heard of any one staying on the island
mostly in the place listed on the event website which is now booked out - Tingy and i are at the Mantra, Muzza at the Good Guys so he has access to a microwave..........

Failing that maybe backpackers :) but that might end up being a distraction.
Bit gutted I won't be contending for Aus Freestyle Champ. Will be sailing next year, might come along as a lollygagging tourist through. Ask random competitors if they've ever tried Kitesurfing..

Just stay at gilligans guys. Its a block from the ferry and you'll spend every non sailing minute there anyway.

Cairns forcast is pretty accurate for Green Island so keep an eye on the graphs a week out and make your decision then.
The Arlington reef graph gives you the closest readings for Green Island

That was the windiest I had seen it out there. A couple of days of 30-35 knots.
Last week of June/early July is usually strong - solid 25 knots or so.

There's no live-stream in Costa Brava ... just wouldn't be the same. Skipping that event! (also I have the smallest board in the world and it's often 6-8 knots racing there!!!)

seems a small contingent of New cal is coming over, was desperately trying to figure out a way to come too... bad timing : the event is just one week after our public holiday !! being a public servant I'm stuck to those dates !! bummer, cause I think the freerace format is a great idea !!!! (til I manage to nail all my gybes...
)

on the event website it says for slalom, '2 Board/2 sail (or similar) format proposed for racing'
Slalom internationally is 3 boards 6 sails
i suppose you take as much as you can and decide just before rego
JustinL I think their saying 2 board/2 sail because of space. space on the barge taking the gear over and space with the storage on the Island, unless your one of the lucky buggers staying on the island.

Space is the key ... yeap. 30 guys bringing 3-4 massive windsurf bags is going to be pretty full-on on the ferry!
