Has any one any feed back on the Goya carrier 116 .I am looking for a bord for speed, early planing and easy carve jib like Atom , magic ride etc but with good top end speed. I am wanting to replace a Jp Supersport 118.
Hi, Is there anything wrong with the JP SS? Does it gybe well & whats the speed like? What yr is yours? etc
Ive been eying the SS as a higher performer against a Magic ride. My 118MR is great, plenty fast etc but i want larger 125-135l & smaller 95-105l to cover the conditions that I get.
cheers
Hi Nerdy, I rode one in Maui last year along with some slightly larger and smaller Carreera prototypes. IMO they are fast and easy to ride in ocean / choppy conditions. They are quick to plane ( but i guess the wind is consistant there!).
In terms of speed, while I was there Francisco Goya raced in the Maui race series and got 3rd on a 20 kt day with a freeride sail and a Careera proto againts guys (other pros) on full on slalom kit. So with the right pilot they can be fast!
I'd like to get one myself.
Cheers
<div>The Super sport is a good all round speed board and I have been in some epic battles with it but I fancy a change but don't want to compromise speed but enhance early on to the plain and carving and the new wide boards look good on paper for two out of three but for top end is were they are not quite up there I think,And I know its all about the rider and conditions.
<div>I have tried the ride and atom both good but was advised to look at the Goya by the importer but there are no demos locally and don't want to buy blind. It sounds like the speed is there with the Goya but not sure about the early plaining and carving.![]()
