In less than a week i'm going up FNQ and now realise that my big board with big fin might be an issue in shallow water. Fangy fin sounds like best option to try but i'm out of time to order one from the fangman. If by any slim chance anyone feels the need to part with their fang magic, then please advise. For deep tuttle box - JP SLW 165 board.
If you don't find one a 40 '' weed fin @ 45 degree might be better and safer than your 56 pointer
sunshine coast sail boards have one ,how wide is your board ?
you can use standard tuttles with longer bolts if need be

Fangy fever set in as I went on a mad scramble to find something to sail reefs.
It was a fun hunt.
Some say they are magic, I attest to that as I've had a great time looking for one, talking to some legends from west to east, and now the mission to the north.
A 5000 kilometre round trip to fetch the fangy, go up and try it out and return to Jimmie's Beach.
The tribe came through.

What fin ?
Glad to see the gang came through. A 56cm fin at Green would be very, very limiting re tides or have you sailing out past the reef an awful lot. I " trimmed" a 40cm a couple of times on the reef up there so an extra 16cm was going to hurt. The Fangy looks like a great option! Have a brilliant time!!
