I'm on it! Just looking at one of my windsurfing spots on google earth and noticed a car parked where I always park ( it's a very quiet road and I'm the only one who ever parks there) so I had a look around the water and spotted something that looked like it was moving quick (I'm the only windsurfer on the island and the only thing that moves quick on that bit of water)I checked the date and time of the google earth image against my gps files and it was me.
Good detective work.
PEI is a nice part of the world!. It's 24 years since I've been there, from memory the bridge had opened 2 weeks before in June 97.
you need more downhaul !
yeah, and your are a little heavy with your back hand!
I only mow the bit where I rig up, the rest is down to Parks Canada.
Definately didn't need more downhaul looking at my speed that day, more wind would of been more like it.
Nice spot! Looks like that road does not get much traffic from the grass growing in the pavement cracks! ![]()
BTW, it's the same image in Google maps. ![]()
Is this speed bank at the end of the track on a Nor wester??

You would need a tiny fin, very shallow up there.

I hope you did it during a lockdown!

But seriously, such sandbars usually have a sharp drop-off on the lee side. If it knee deep it's fine. Have you checked it out?
My shortest fin is a delta 46 and that's not short enough to sail up at that end. The bit where I am in the pic in a northerly can be very flat and the land between it and the sea in only a couple of meters high so still get plenty of wind.
the bay has changed a lot the last couple of years with the big storms we've had, new sand bars have formed everywhere, areas that used to be do-able are now a few inches deep at low tide and about about 2foot deep at high. My back garden is the bay so I tend to sail there most of the time as it's just really easy to get out if I don't have much time.
Malpaque bay bay about 50km east is a bigger bay and stays completely flat in most wind directions for some odd reason but you have to play dodge with the hundred kitersurfer up there.

Never heard of it?
Use the scroll wheel on mouse.
Scroll out as fast as you can so the country gets smaller and smaller, then you can see the whole earth, smaller and smaller...... really fast..... while inserting a medical instrument in your bum.
That's what alien abduction is like. Or near as.....
