Just recently bought a go pro with the hopes of taking it sailing. From the videos I've watched on youtube, helmet cams or POV are my favourite angles. As I'm reluctant to buy a helmet and put a GoPro on top as I may feel clostrophobic in the water I thought of a solution. If you know of those camping torches that strap to your head so where ever you look the light shines, simply replace the torch with a camera. GoPro do have some headstraps available but my main concern is whether it is tight enough and stable enough in rough conditions to get decent footage. Anyone used their headstraps to windsurf? Or is there a better way to get point of view sailing footage?

Hey Alec95,

Just go on Ebay. They have Gopro head straps for around $12. They work fine. Just make sure you tether the strap to an impact vest or the like as they can come off your noggin pretty easy.

How easy? I don't want to be frequently putting the thing back on. And cheers I'll have a look.

They won't just fall off, not during normal back and forth sailing, or even a few jumps for that matter, but if you crash they can. Once the elastic is wet they can become loose.
