Gloo report for this week:
sunday and monday this week was 8 foot (i think maybe mast high in windsurfing language) and 25knots. that'll be a clinic.
hehe
swell and wind dropping tuesday and wed. yesterday 30 sailors and 15 kites. cars parked well down the track from the actual carpark.
dont know if you can squeeze any more in when the conditions are nice in the october time slot.
You're sh!tting me?
I have not been the Gnaraloo for 8 yrs, and those kinda numbers is partly why I am opposing the clinic. 30 Sailors and 15 kites ![]()
8yrs ago at the same time of the year was about 15-20 guys out, just manageable. There was a choice of places in the carpark, but if you had to have the view from your car you had the get there early. Then again if you asked somebody to move their car so you could have their bay they probably would have. It was that kinda place.
Imagine another 10 on top of the current tally.
Having been at Gloo for the last 4 Octobers I would say that running a clinic with the amount of people there would be difficult, in or out of school holidays.
I wonder what sort of numbers he is chasing to make the trip economical?
What guarantees does Guy have to make, sure to be caveats over weather and crowds in the water.
I am reasonably sure that he can gain no exclusive use over the break.
I have enormous respect for his teaching program and information on the web.
Think of all the posts on this forum referring people to his site.
Maybe we could hope that the people involved are skilled and courteous just like we are.
