Depends on how much you like flying Cocos is way up near Sri Lanka ,....Cocas our winter ...,Coro summer ,
Cocos has more flat water ,DO BOTH .
have a 6 month holiday .
you have to fly out of Perth to get to Cocos
Just for the record I would love to go to Cocos ,I'm a sucker for islands with coconut trees .

I believe so. Looks very nice.
Coronation Beach - you can drive there. You take every bit of gear with you. You camp cheaply.

Time and/or money.
Cost+time for driving East to West is significant. But then so is flying to a tropical island.
I have been going to Coronation Beach for 3-months over summer, while working remotely; every year now for about 10yrs. In a good summer, you can sail everyday for months; in a very bad summer it is still > 50% of the time. Its my holy place.
I cant speak for Cocos for any real examples because I dont have that experience
Cocos is $$$$$$$ . And you will have to bring your own gear. You need a boat at Cocos to get you to some of the best locations. It's remote and not much in the way of luxuries
