On behalf of the Geraldton Windsurfing Club
Welcome to the Ranger Outdoors Geraldton Windsurfing Festival Coronation Beach 4th – 6th January 2008.
The aim of this windsurfing and social event is to put the fun back into the sport similar to the Merimbula Mambo Competition. A $60 entry fee for the Festival compulsory that entry forms filled out in full, fee includes, Insurance, show bag, prizes, BBQ’s from 12pm Friday ,Saturday and Sunday and a quality T-Shirt, with the G.B.H as our Party venue who will be putting on live music and Drink vouchers for the competitors. In addition this year we will be having a stage set up at coro;s with live music on the beach. This competition does have a serious side, that is to go sailing until you can’t hold on anymore and then party until you can’t party anymore. This will be the combined format the judges are using to score the winners. A reminder that this event is judged on all disciplines including sailing time on the water, wave riding, jumps, falling off, your ability socialize with other competitors and people in general .Our format for judging your sailing will remain discreet but anything goes any style wether its rail to rail or just cruising .The judges will remain anonymous and will also be sailing and competing. Sailors will complete a detailed description of all there sailing gear, board type, sail design, sail numbers, colour, etc. and will also fly a streamer off their mast to indicate they’re in the competition. There are 5 divisions; juniors, Women’s, Veterans, Grand Veterans(over 50) , Open. There has been some very generous prizes donated by our sponsors on which we greatly appreciate there support. Hey King,
Looks like the wind and swell will be firing for all three days of the event. If last weekend was any indication Coro should be epic. The organisers have done a great job providing heaps of food, shade and music. Great way to spend the weekend.
