I have got a prolimit 26mm boom wit a broke tail-piece. And an old carbon tekknosport boom with a horrible front-end. I was thinking about cutting the arms of the prolimit tail-piece and inserting them 10-15 inches into the tekknolimit tail-piece so i can use the prolimit frontend.

Is this a really horrible idea?

Is araldite suffiecient or should i use som West-systems epoxy?

Should i glass or carbon wrap the connetion?

Here the idea

are both arms carbon? because mixing aluminum and carbon is fraught with problems. There's electrolytic action between them causing bad corrosion.
If both are carbon and they fit together fairly neatly, (not too much slop) 300mm overlap should hold with 24hr araldite. It only needs carbon if there's not much overlap.

Thank you for the reply.

Both are carbon and they fit together without any play, so it should be good.
