My mast froze months ago. No real problem as I can use roof racks. Still, I did try several times to use the double boom scissors method to free it and all I got was scratches on the outside of the mast.
This afternoon I pulled it off the roof to rig and saw it had a small gap at the join. And it separated with almost no effort.
The only reason I can see is that the vibration on the roof rack has freed it. Good thing it didn't decide to fall apart and onto the road

That's why, after a few people twisting can't do it, holding the base and bouncing the tip on the lawn often works.
Then, that bouncing and the booms method.
Never yet had to go to the brutal methods suggested in the many threads here....

Bounce it.

Bouncing the mast performs wonders, yet so many seem unaware of it, and continue with brute force methods of tow bars or scissored booms.

Shake it, shake it!!!

But that's two too many for a six pack, no beer, no help.
