i am thinking of getting back into windsurfing and wanted some advice on getting setting up.. Live bayside and would sail around Ricketts and mentone
used to have an old Bombora astro toy in teens and now much heavier 100 kg plus and not as fit or strong
was thinking 135-150 litres with a 6.0-7.0 m sail... What is approx cost to get set up full kit used in good cond. $1500-$2000?

At 100kg, I would have said 140 litre board and 6.0 to 6.5 sail, so you're pretty much on the money with everything you've said there.

Is it worth spending the extra to get new and latest technology boards sails etc?

^^^ nah 2006 - 2010 gear is just fine as it is light years ahead of what u would have used back then. and you should get it for $2K easy. I suggest if you were on an astrotoy back in the day and new stuff is so much easier to use you may find you exceed the 140L real fast? Maybe worth bumming a ride on some gear to get a feel for it?
