Hey all, was looking at eventually working on low-level freestyle moves such as jumping off chop with a 2008 JP X-cite Ride fws. Question is will it be strong enough to withstand the landings ? Just aware of how fragile this era of boards can be
...
Also any tips on going from just blasting to jumping off chop and enhancing jumps?

FY, im no expert but heres what i think im doing when i chop hop my Speed F1RB.Heading across the wind, feet in the straps. Look for a suitable chop to launch. Just before i get to the lil ramp i sheet out fractionaly. This lessens mastfoot pressure. Board nose lifts, tail sinks. From there rapidly sheet in as the nose of board hits the chop. At the same time think ' im gonna get air' n pull your knees upto your chin. Kind of pull up on boom as well.Board should lift off. Keep windward rail slightly raised n board will bear away mid air for a tail first soft landing. Hopefully!! The board can be used to steer when airborne. If you are landing sideways you are too close to the wind when launching. Its easier to launch closer to the wind as chop is steeper. But harder to stick the landing without driving the fin sideways.
Think this is what im doing. It all happens so quickly.![]()
