Freerace Qld State Champs Summary

Hi All,

For those that haven't seen on the Qld page, Windwanderers held the Qld 1hr FR Champs last weekend at Lake Cootharaba (40min Nth of Noosa).
A good turn out with some high class sailors, heaps of 1hr and NM PB's were smashed and some very high 1hrs recorders in the 24-26Knt range! we even had few spectators on shore watching at times.

Our 'wait for a cracker forecast' event strategy ensured heaps of wind over the weekend, gusty, wind shifts and rain squalls, everything from 10-30knts, rain, sunshine, smooth water and choppy water really testing conditions, also physically as we held 4 x 1hrs, plus all the sailing in between meant everyone was pretty well sailed out by Sunday afternoon when we got our best winds.

For the record, Brad Anderson won his second title, Michael Jones also second title in Freerace Div and a new Female Champ Jo Byrne squeezing past Kellie Tusler on a average speed count back.
