I started sailing a formula a few months ago with 10 and 9.2 m sails. When i am a bit overpowered the board wants to go upwind like crazy, it is very hard to bear off. Once on a broad reach it's more controllable. It is a Starboard FW162, the mast track is 5-10 mm back of the middle. I want to ask more experienced sailors if this is natural for a formula or if I am doing something wrong, like stance, mast track or harness lines position.
Thanks !

fin, too much fin, try lifting your toes, then try move the boom down a bit, then try think PHAT,

but definitly try the toes, oh and adjustable harness lines, BIG ONES, not pathetic tiny insufficient girly ones

yeh you know it's all setup right when all it wants to do is go upwind or downwind
never the less a couple of tips to make the transition are as jsnfok said get adjustable harness lines so you can lengthen them to bear away and go down wind or drop the boom a tad on fresher days, dropping fin size isn't really the first thing i would think about unless you just want to cruise and do more reaching
last thing i do when it's survival is unhook for the bear away to get the body right away from the rig and stop that catapult feeling, once on a broad reach course and feeling safe again hook back in, probably just means that my adjustable lines don't go long enough

would be nice to hear some of the pro's thoughts
