You know one of the greatest things about RC these days...how bloody cheap it is now. Sure you can still spend retards amounts of cash if you wish but you can get amazing planes, cars, boats etc for stupidly cheap. Case in point I got an electric RC chopper for Christmas as a laugh, now it's only a 4 channel so it has no collective pitch control but you know what...it cost $80! Friggen $80! I flew it into the road out the front of my house at I reckon 40kph the day I got it...it bounced...it rolled...it took off again straight away hahah! It's great fun, I chase birds around the park, fly into the clothes line, endless shenanigans! Thanks China.

Back when I was younger I built sailplanes, designed and built my own carbon RC sailing catamaran and got into nitro cars...and everything back then was expensive, the radios, the servos, the kits, everything. Now you can jump on ebay and two days later have an RTF P51 mustang delivered to you house for like $200, with a digital radio, everything! To me that is incredible given that when I was 17 I had to save for like a month to buy a new receiver because my current one had drowned in my boat :P

Oh also cool video Reflex

Yes - the hobby has become quite cheap

but it seems that there is a race to the bottom price war going on

which can be good for initial stick time investment. Although i have seen some horribly unflyable cheap gear at the local park bought through Hk based online junk foam shops - the planes were unflyable. But there is some good cheap gear around too - you just have to have a good filter to get through to it.

I find that the quality gear really delivers a superior flyingexperience- once you get into the hobby and value precision.

I have a mate who uses his RC Heli to sweep the grass off all the paths & driveways after he mows.

" Just clearing all the grass off, dear won't be long - very messy though" [}:)]
