Needlefish, related to flying fish, also jump into the air when they sense some kind of threat approaching fast.
In 1997 at Los Barriles in Baja a needlefish jumped went through a windsurfer's thigh. She limped in, and her husband flew her to La Paz to the hospital. She came out of it just fine. No windsurfing anymore for that trip.

47 years windsurfing never had a fish onboard - I rig a camera and Moby flies on.
Maybe the start of his acting career ![]()
Here's the Insta version;
Nice one! I've had fish, turtles, dolphins swimming and flying under and over the board on many occasions and even was caught by a long fishing line once but never wear shorts over my wetsuit! ;)

Cam in Cairns had a fish punture his calf and cut an artery, I have no idea what the fish was. Luckily he's a doc and his wife a nurse, and he lives across the road from beach.
