First KA Sail was actually Wild Winds....
First KA number on a windsurfer sail was KA-1, Mark Paul (Gaastra Bombora), later handed to Tom Luedecke (Neil Pryde Tiga).
The pictured sail is a Neil Pryde late 80s twin cam Warp Speed.
Right, this has gone way too serious! It's just a joke because the KA designation and the similarity to KA sails brand. The NP logo did give it away... But the history is interesting, and I think too often this type of knowledge gets lost in the mists of time instead of being captured when it is still first hand knowledge in someones minds. You read wiki pages these days about the early days of surfing, windsurfing etc and there are some wild conjecture there!
KA was the International country designation pre using 3 letters. K was member of the British Commonwealth and A for Australia. This was the inspiration for the name of the sail brand when it started post Wild Winds which was AMACs earlier brand.
Sorry to digress but the last post made me fish this relic from the archives. Me on Australia 2, helped design some hardware for it when I worked at Ronstan. Which one is me???

This is on the wall of a night club in Melbourne CBD!
Which club is it? May pay them a visit!

KA = Kingdom of Australia.
KC = Kingdom of Canada etc.
Back in the old days when we all had KA numbers on our sails I remember a bloke asking us "Where do you get these KA sails?"
