Have just finished racking out my windsurf trailer, have got the boards, sails, booms & masts all nicely packed inside.
But finding somewhere to store the fins is giving me a headache.

I have 8 fins ranging from 35-75cm, got space on the inside of the rear door that is obviously the best place to mount them but can't figure out the best way to do it.

Anybody got a good solution.

you could rivet some mesh bags to the door.

Bit of pine with slots routed in it so they fit snugly (bases in the wood) ..... or so they slide thru and hang?

Cut them into a block of EPS foam or .....

Haggar could rent his foot out to you.

Use some bungy cord and pin it to the door at intervals roughly the width of a fin. Then you just slide the fins into the slots. May be worthwhile a second row of slots for the longer fins to save them slapping around while in transit. I've used this for other bits like extensions and bases, it's cheap and easy.

Hi

Thanks for suggestions guys, this is what i came up with inthe end. Was tempted with the bungee cord but decided there would be too much movement, as it is all the fins fit snugly and there is no lateral movement.

I used a piece of square section pvc downpipe, which has been working quite well because it secures the fin at two points making it nice and secure.

I just milled identical slots top and bottom on the thinnest side of the pipe around the same size as my fins and fixed it to the lid of my equipment box.

A router would do just as good a job as a mill or alternatively you may be able to drill some starter holes and use a hot stanley blade to remove the centre sections.
