Hello, I'm new to the world of windsurfing. I have purchased a couple boards used. One is an alpha 130 fun. Now when I handled the mast I get small fibres in my hand. It seems that the finnish has been worn off from the sail rubbing on it. I'm looking for some kind of a fix.

This is most likely UV damage due to the mast being left in the sun. A coat of resin may help, but the best fix is another mast.

Or a mast from this century.

Honestly would be more trouble than its worth to repair.
You can probably pick up second hand 2 piece carbon mast for less than a hundred dollars.
Or have a look at your local trash and treasure at the local tip and you could have another glass mast for $20.
Where are you at?
