Got to spend some time with my daughter yesterday and she filmed this for me! Thank you Chloe
This is my local spot. Quite a few sail this /these spots around Manly Harbour side. (when I say quite a few I mean I have seen 4 this week) It can be ocean like but you are still in the safe harbour. It can get wild, I saw my mate Niall get a huge jump of just a swell a few years ago, still remember it. Truly massive jump
Gybing on the far side the swells smooth out and you can get nice fast gybes down a wave. I sail Formula and Slalom here mainly and recently raceboard.
This day was blowing about 15-20 knots.
I should say it is not allowed to sail in the shipping lanes or ferry lanes. We are trying to change it. Life jackets is the law too.
If you come sailing with me the police may pick you up
just saying
Nice spot and cool vid Chloe.
Ive sailed there once before but from Balgowlah, didn't realise it was illegal. Ha.
Ha Ha, no I didnt launch down the ladder.
In a south to west wind I go to Little Manly. Nice Cafe there and new lawn coming by the boat ramp also toilets.
South east I go to where the skiffs launch from just east of the Manly ferry wharf.
Nor east I go to Clontauf or Balmoral. Balmoral is very cool but the parking
That's a great Father's Day present! Nice bit of cruising. I look forward to my kids to be big enough and have enough patience to undertake such a mission!
You are very daring rigging that close to a children's swing. If you did that over here in Perth, Cottesloe Council would have had an huge debate, dug up the swing, created windsurfing, Kiting and non-Kiting zones, erected signs and launched a public awareness campaign!!
I must say, it is probably for the best of all water users but could be argued, all this effort was initiated by someone rigging near a children's swing!!
