My uncle still rides them to this day . He has a 84 and a 94 . He loves them , use race sails mostly but wave sails when it's super windy and choppy . Eats chop and is no slouch . I've seen him do some pretty imprressive jumps as well . I think it's more a free ride board .

Used to own one, was a great board. Managed to get 30 knots out of it with a 7.7 Race sail. Liked big wide Jibes but that could have been to do with the size of the board...
Still got mine a great board in its day .bit long 284 cm dont use it much ..
Never had a gps in the late 90 ies but it flew maybe 30 knots l got out of it .they were a fast freeride.
They are long and narrow, so one would expect them to be fast, but the speed depends on other factors too. Rail, tail drag, a fin, and god knows what other laws of physics...
The size of interest is 103L, and that would be a small board for me (102kg).
I use that size in 25+ knots winds, so not much, and no point in spending '000s on a board that is used 5 times a year , but wouldn't mind something that narrow in high winds. They do have a good rap.
If anything, it could end up on the wall as a decoration

we are mostly light wind area and use it in 40 - 60 kph winds with HSM Fire 6.3

with 20-25 kt wind, I roar in the 28-31kt speed area on the fin. Slalom or freeride, I am not sure what it means in this case, it is identified as slalom board. This one is the original 281x59x115l Asa/composite construction from 1990-91. It was my only board since 3 years with s-Type sail 6.6 and 7.8 for the 13-25kt wind range. I am 80kg. Now the replacer arrived as a third hand CA SL 70 2009.
