Anyone had any luck getting in contact with E-Go couriers? Charged three times what the quote was for a sail Geraldton to Adelaide. Beware of leaving your credit card details.
I used to use them but have changed. All the online booking ones are crap to contact when you have a problem..
I think it is run by Hunter Express? maybe call them
Thanks Mark, I'll try to call them but they don't list a phone number, website just has an obscure message posting service that they don't respond to. I'm sure it's just a mix up, but having $390 taken from my account for a single 4.5 sail is outrageous.
Yeah, service has really deteriorated.
Took nearly 8 weeks for a mast from Tassie to Geelong, the emails were never answered, but ring Hunters to make a booking and someone will answer, and check transit, they just kept telling me their been really busy and give it a few more days but little help. Don't know about extra charges but unless the weight size was incorrect they definitely owe you some sort of refund. Keep calling Hunters.![]()
I've had at least three over-size/weight charges applied after sending gear (all reasonably minor). I queried one using the comments on-line and they transferred half the amount back to my account. The freight charges have gone up though and you do need to calculate volume and weight accurately!
Don't leave your credit card details, they changed their payment system which allows them to help themselves
I used Pack and Send last week. Very impressed with both price and service. They delivered a sail from Newcastle to Perth in about 8 days

Notify the bank of an unauthorised transaction, won't need to call the company then, they will be calling you when payment is withdrawn.
I usually find au.interparcel.com/ very good for price. They are a reseller for DHL ect... Might be worth a look for next time.
ATR. Just go to Green Fields depot. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Manager is there after 10am if you want to sort out money.
Also, there is the trusted "Seabreeze Courier Service". The standard tender is a carton of piss or bottle of Jacks to riders travelling across the country to sail.

just call the bank and raise a credit card dispute .. they usually sort out pretty quickly
A few things with Ego, if you pay by credit card they will keep your number and if your freight is the incorrect size they will charge you. Don't ever tape two boxes together or they will simply cut off the box that doesn't have the label and you may never see it again. They have laser scanners that will measure the freight dimensions to the exact size. If you put in the wrong measurements you will get charged for it. If you can drop it to a depot great. Sometimes stuff can take days sometimes to get picked up from your door. I once had a sail that was never picked up and I ended up having to take it out to the depot. Overall they are ok. I have sent a lot of stuff with them and its always arrived. Like previously mentioned the biggest downside is there is no contact phone number if there is an issue.

That's gold, thanks. Just got a quote for three sails Adelaide to Perth, $120 all up. Way under what I expected. And for the guys who've posted advice, thanks, appreciate it. Interesting that I originally paid for the freight using PayPal, thinking that this would offer security, it seems not, E-Go dipped into the account anyway, through PayPal.
Just one last word about e-go/Hunter Express couriers. Their web site main page has a big ruddy truck on the wrong side of the road heading towards a blind bend (see pic below). I'm amazed Hunter Express management haven't picked up on this after what is it ? 1?, 2? years after revamping their web site. Management are asleep at the wheel obviously, just like old mate in the truck below. Not a good corporate look
. Almost as bad as when disgrunted Hunter Express customers were posting their damaged goods on google reviews and those damaged items became the company's google logo for a very long time LOL.

That's a legal overtaking manoeuvre. Probably suggesting how fast their service is
+1 for e go charging the card for alleged outside weight/dimensions extra fee
Package was measured and weighed before given to them (and photographed)
Will be disputing the charge but it is a pain to have to do so
No reply from website query but suddenly changed the weight on the tracking from 90 kg back to 15 kg when I pointed that out in the message to them
I just got a quote online with Transdirect and on E-Go website for exactly the same thing, I.e same depot to depot, same dimensions and weight. Transdirect options include Hunter Express which is E-Go operator $176. E-Go quote is $54. Does that mean Transdirect are pocketing the extra $122?
Try interparcel - I used them recently and found them reasonably priced and responsive via email. No ego.
Eventually got a full refund on the extra $268 charge that was taken after delivery without my consent. Huge headache and difficult company to deal with. Never again.
Just had some stuff delivered from Tassie to Brissie with Ego and took 6 weeks
Also charged an extra $11 for not sizing correctly but 99% sure it was. Actually, this has happened a few times and is always around $10 extra. Again pretty certain these items have been measured correctly. They will hold it at the depot until it's paid. Just wondering if they do this on purpose to make a lot more money. Doubt I will use them again.
Just sent a boom from Perth to Brisbane with E Go. They were half the price of pack send but what an absolute pain in the A%$# to deal with. Super hard to find their depot in Perth out the back of Canningvale. Had to speak to someone at Hunter Express in Syndey to track them down. Web information is hopeless. No response to email query. Lady at the depot was actually really helpful, said there had been a lot of changes and improvements but if I am shipping east again, I will insist buyer pays for pack send. Nearby and so helpful but twice the price .....
