Hello there,

Is there any familiar with Drone filming in Windsurfing?
I wanted to make some personal videos in conditions of 25knots. Is this possible or Drones cannot handle this wind?
Was considering to buy a Phantom 4 pro. Any feedback is more than welcome.

Thanks,

Probably one of the most complex ways of shooting windsurfing - especially when it gets windy. P4 is actually worse than P3 in high wind as its gimbal isn't as robust - it will fly off axis - the p4 is great for sub 15 knot work (you still get the odd gimbal error)

Kites, when they are around - which is always - generally make it 3 times harder than it should be.

If you don't have an rc flying background be prepared to lose a few drones - pretty much everyone i know that got into this space lost or smashed a drone in their first month or so.

Sure there is sports mode (40 mph) - but impossible to film effectively while using that- so you go back to ATT mode which can barely reach 25 knots.

The inspire is the way to go if you want really good results in wind

If you can get past all that - its a lot of fun!

I use a standard P4 and as Matt said the gimbal does rock around sometimes when it gets windy. Having said that I've used it in 25 knots and gotten some good shots. I only use Sport mode.

I practiced quite a bit at my local sports oval to get comfortable with the controls.

Do you have any sample of the video on 25knots?

I know ..his nikon camera lens was $500 as well , my mate that filmed this lost it in the sea too ,ET never came home ,he now has a phantom ,which is around 2000,
he said it does the job ,and is ok in 20 knots ,he did say the camera can not film or turn completely around like the inspire ,so it is flown a different way ,I have never flown one ,but i have 3 friends who have them (phantom) ,and all have great footage ...thats why i don't need one ..LOL.
as someone said earlier ,you may crash it ,so don't throw to much $ one ya first one .

Yeah that Primbee video above. Just buy a 2nd hand Phantom 4 mate. You can find them for around $1000.

That looks sharkey as ****, and like the wind is going to drop at any moment. (nice footage though)
