Hi All
Has anyone heard of the term "Draft Forward" ?. A mate mentioned that his Naish Session sail has this characteristic. Curious, I tried to do some research on the net, but this term doesn't appear anywhere except the Naish site:http://www.naishsails.com/en/sails/session.html
Could anybody give me more info ?. Why is it important to have front hand pressure in wave sailing ?. Is this is bad thing for Freeride sailing ?
Cheers
Jay
i'm not sure what naish are getting at
but in general terms a sail with a forward draft is usually better off the wind and typically more twisty in the leach.
a sail that has draft back is better upwind and usually not as loose in the leach.
naish seem to be associating draft position with power. i'm not a sail designer but to me that's marketting.
power in a sail has a lot of variables and draft postion is only one. but it does give you an idea into the use of the sail.
