Hello,
Is the stuff called "Kneed it" and will it stick to plastic boards? There is a pic below and it looks like the stuff I have used before to repair holes in aluminum.
On the board Lady web site it looks like she is fixing a plastic board, can anyone confirm this please?
I have small compression fractures on both sides of the nose on my F2 Powerglide 130 and am wondering if this is the right stuff to use.
Thanks guys
I think that stuff is for a Quick Fix, your better off doing a better job to keep water out!
Im no boat builder so what i say could be rubbish!
Good luck![]()
G'day Minty
Tis kneadit, you can get it from any hardware shop.
The compression fractures, are the actually sucking any water?
suncure and solacure is another name 4 same stuff i found in bunnings which is epoxy based, though i've never actually used it.
That Kneed It sets as hard as buggery and it looks pretty grim if you don't get it smooth. You should sand it as soon as its hard enough to accept sanding.
Everyone,
Is it water tight this stuff or do I need to do more than paint it a couple of times to make it water proof?
Elmo, The fractures were under my home made nose protector consiting of 2 x 5mm sheets of wetty rubber bound to the nose by 27 kms of duct tape
, water egress was minimal if at all, the board has always been heavy![]()
Cheers again folks ![]()
The "need it" is good for a larger hole type ding .If you only have stress fractures then some epoxy araldite should do the trick.
Neither repair is pretty but they're affective.![]()
I'd get the 'Aqua Knead it' (two part knead-able epoxy filler). It's under the same range of selleys 'knead it' except it has one distinct advantage. It dries under water :D It's till epoxy based and dries in about 20min in warm conditions. Always have a tube in the car, has kept me sailing a few times over the years.
Edit: I bought mine from bunnings, assume you can still get it there.
Cheers guys,
I Think I will use Stribos method as there is no crater like hole, it is more of 2cm crack I guess, so no real valley to squeeze the Aqua Knead it into, as for cosmetics the board is probably 6 to 8 years old and I feel that the epoxy araldite will fix the problem.
Thanks for all your options and reasons why, I feel much better about what I am going to do now. ![]()
Stribo look out if it goes pear-shaped mate
I will have to catch you in my Jeep coz I cant sail as fast as you![]()
Cheers guys and good wind in ya undies and the water![]()

giving the nose of the board a bit of a going over with ajax and a scrubbing brush, so it doesn't look like you've just gutted and skinned a possum on it,
may improve adhesion of any product you later apply.
