It's a bit quiet here these days. Is everyone in the southern hemisphere dormant for the winter or did you still have a sail recently?

Let us know how it was!

I had an amazing session on Tuesday, strong winds gusting well over 35 knots, and a ****ty one today but still good to be out!

It's been nothing but offsore westerlies here in SEQ but got out for a quick blast on the F2 lightning raceboard in nice clear water today...

I think he looks most crazy in the first pic.
That's me. Wondering why i'm so keen in such crappy conditions that i even went twice in one day this week.

Conditions are great in New Zealand's Northland. The last week, it's been windy nearly every day. Water temperature is about 17 degrees, similar is air temperature. I can't complain.. Hop over the ditch and join us!!!! waternomads.co.nz/northland-weekend-foiling-trip/

Been no wind but the surf has been exceptional.
Until this week when it went flat so now we have a problem.

We had 5 days in a row of planeable westerlies, sunny, temperature in high teens, but the swell was a bit big except one day but it was over 30 knots and max temp 13C. We only sailed that day, at Birubi, was okay.
Of course could have sailed on the lakes any day.

3 sails this week. 4 if you include last Saturday. 1st 3 Westerlies and yesterday very light SW.
Sticking to shallow water atm.
I've had 3 months off post ear operation so I'm building up gradually. Just bought some nice warm accessories..

Ready for some decent wind now but nothing on the horizon for a few weeks.

After a very long dry spell in the uk we've had a cracking couple of weeks with wind everyday , luckily it's been a quiet period at work so I've really made the most of it. I've had anything from 4.7 bump and jump / waves to 7m slalom in unusually warm weather also. My body is broken ??

That's one of my dream destinations , although 3.0 sounds insanely windy ! I'm quite light and usually on one or two sizes smaller than most !

Yeah must be happy days, thanks for sharing. I guess at that size and wind, weight doesn't matter all that much. Anything will probably feel too big and you don't really want to go much smaller than 3.0 I guess.

At 120 kg wet , if I was using a 3m sail , I really should be in a bunker.

Saturday 14th, got hammered in a gust at Green Point using a 5.2. Should've used a 4.7 to begin with.

Monday 16th, got hammered in strengthening wind at Rye using a 5.0. Others were using 4.2's after my debacle.

Looking forward to Monday and Tuesday when 30kts+ are forecast and I'm going to rig small to start with.

Yes, Vicco's the place to be in winter (providing you've got a thick wetsuit).

Big storm brewing in most parts of WA so if we can dodge the rain we should get a few happy posts in here from this side of the country

Its going to be Severne Pyro weather.

What the Gorge looks like in those conditions - from last summer. My buddy was on a 2.7 (he's probably 75-80kg ish)

Looks good if you're on suitable gear.
Bad luck if you're 65kgs..

I just sailed the 5th day this week in a row.
After sailing with probably an unbalanced foil setup for a year, this now feels like i have the 4th wheel on the car.

Had an awesome session this morning and early arvo in the warm and strong NW. Relatively stable for a winter storm, only two showers, and big swell. Already looking forward to tomorrow.

His girlfriend was sailing a 2.5 that day.

Nice unexpected session on foil yesterday evening. Good breeze, flat water. Entering a foil jibe powered up is so much fun. It's summer here and windy sessions are typically scarce.

Nuclear winds today, amazingly fun and all the small sails came out, so good! Had a very good time on the water and despite the strong winds I managed to control board and sail without many issues.

Dam that's windy ! Is it to much to actually have fun though and just like a survival session. I guess you need to just get used to the wind strengths.
