Great video of the event. Wow, the sailers get close to the starters boat.
Question, I can see the GW60 on your left wrist....whats the piece of technology hanging of your r/hand wrist?

Race Watch
What size kit was he on?
nice speeds too
Falcon 98 and I think 5.4m 30-40knt winds
37 knots on the watch? I don't doubt it he was motoring and lapping people on the third leg by the look of it.
I have this habit of running my harness lines a long way back and sailing with my front hand a long way forward. I always thought it wasn't the best thing to do but after watching this guy I feel a lot better about it.

He finished 8th out of 1200 in that race. The day before he did some great speeds in La Franqui, and currently ranks in seventh place on gps-speedsurfing. Andy Laufer used to be a PWA-sailor, but is somewhat semi-retired now. In the Bavarian Speed Challenge nobody ever comes close to him (well, o.k., that's maybe not a world-class event!)
The race looks a bit scary to me,on the dangerous side with so many competitors close by,some going in the opposite direction. The start as well looks like an accident waiting to happen.
With the wind offshore the water is very flat for the wind strength.
Really enjoyed the close up footage of a world class sailor.
sometimes pete you just have to strap a pair on and go for it...
or stay at home with your knitting and a nice hot cup of milo.
