Thinking about getting away in March/April for a week. Any clues on a decent spot for a rapidly learning learner - somewhere relatively flat for tuning some basics. Probably rent kit there. Preferably a good hotel to placate my better half whose long weekend breakfasts in Middle Park have been devestated since I got my board in November and haven't been seen since....
not really pacific but cheap! I've had 2 trips to Mui Ne Vietnam and had a great time. Warm water, good winds and cheap. The Vietnamese people are friendly and the place is relaxing. You can hire kit from a star-board test centre. See windsurf-vietnam.com.

our team of Beach Boys prepare your gear and take care of it when your done...you just need to worry about having fun... Harnesses available.
We stayed at full moon resort which is on the web link. Very neat and comfortable. Never had any problems at all. There's plenty of accommodation at Mui Ne everything from a bit dodge to opulent.
Beer price may have gone up (was 2 years ago) could be as high now as $1 !!!!!!!
Thanks Red. I've just checked out the hotel/resort website - looks very enticing. Is the beach OK to 'leave' my significantly more attractive better half alone whilst I'm out trying to drown myself?
Yep- my wife is a non-sailor (trying hard to change that!) and it was one part of Nam that you could relax on a beach and not get hassled. My wife even looked into doing a cooking course whilst we were there but instead just lazed around the pool/beach!!
I'm uploading some photos to give you some ideas..

You can actually see all the sailboard's wake on the sat image. Family have been thinking of o/s holiday in late may early June and I think I might have found the spot.
Winds seem to be okay that time of year too.
The 2nd picture probably explains why I couldn't find a second hand 'Go' board anywhere in the eastern states - looks like this place has got a monopoly on all new stock. Obviously pretty well equipped. Thanks.![]()
