hey muzza,

bought a go off you a couple of months ago (pom). demo in the deep blue would be great. going to try to get my "sea legs" off bower road tonight if the wind keeps up. will be there this weekend, can only get there saturday though, looks dubious wind wise doesnt it? do you know anything i dont?

Get out there Chris, you'll love it!
The weather does look pretty poor for Saturday, but the beer will be cold!
"Do you know anything i don't" Mate, I go down the beach, if it's windy I sail, if it's not I don't... I'm the worst weather forecaster in windsurfing!

same here. i can gauge what the wind has been doing through the day by how many oranges are on my lawn under the orange tree. unfortunately, this does not help see into the future, but with cold beer, the future becomes less important! see you sat.

G'day to the South Aussie contingent,

I'll be heading down south over the Christmas break and am super keen to get some sailing in and meet a few of the local South Oz crew

Will be looking to get some wave sailing in around Goolwa/Victor Harbour/Pt Elliot along with a planned trip or two down to Waipinga and Kangeroo Island if the conditions are right.
I have had my eye on the reef break off Pt Elliot (refer earlier post) for a few years and would like to give it a crack if Huey serves up the right combination of conditions with ample energy levels to make it worthwhile.
As it will be a holiday trip, anyone suspecting a sales pitch can relax... I'm planning on surfing, sailing, downing a Coopers or 7 and sharing some of the local stoke when the conditions are on.

For those considering venturing into the ocean for the first time I am more than happy to be involved in a group sail if one of the South Oz locals wants to take the lead
It could present a great opportunity to meet some of your fellow sailors along with the chance to swap tips and suggestions for those who are a little hesitant about hitting the ocean for the first time.

Regards

Kev

Maybe set up another thread, as this one about a Demo day, but we would be more than happy to catch up with a fellow Sailor, Sellicks and South Coast sounds like a good a spot as any, and I am always keen on a coopers (although we always seem to have heinekens in the esky at the moment!)

Catch ya Soon Kev!

This ties in nicely with the KA Sails SA Summer of Speed - Round 2, which will be held at the Murray Mouth on this weekend. It will be a giant slalom course with plenty of vantage points. Round 1 was held last weekend at Boggy Lake.

Let me know if you need any further details.

Can anyone sail there? i'm just looking to have a sail somwhere where there is water. Wondering if you could give me some directions chris would love to head out. It doesn't sound like theres enough water at goolwa. I would have to use small board, small fin and small sail meaning there has to be quite a lot of wind.

Anyway it would be interesting heading out the the mouth, asuming i can sail there, and if its suitable. I want to go SOMEWHERE this weekend, i have to sail. havn't been out in ages and need to try out the new boards.

Cheers
Bubs

Hi Bubs,

I have sent forwarded the info to your Dads email address. I have not sailed the mouth before but Chris Dimond sails there and reckons its pretty good.

Cheers,
Chris

A quiet start to the day with light onshore winds. The water level in the lake was a bit better than I expected, but still not great.
The wind picked up to around 15 - 18 knot SSE (side shore) at about 3-ish.
The Barbie and beers made up for the light conditions.
Forecast for tomorrow looks much better, 20 - 25 kt SW (keep an eye on the BOM website).
See you all down there tomorrow from 11ish, barbie and beers going all day (unless we run out)!

Cheers,
Muzza
