Hey Guys,
I have not windsurfed for about 15yrs or so. After a weekend in Sandy Point watching a mate fly along the water i have been inspired to give it a go again.
My old board is very old, hopefully it can handle my weight now (not as light as i was back then, working on it).
The board is very old and is about 3.8m long. If i manage to do it reasonably i will look at getting newer gear but just want to try the old stuff first
I found only one of my sales how do i determine what size it is.? so i know what sort of wind i am looking out for
Thanks
I am coming back after a few years myself (15?) and the gear is sooooooooo different (as well as my fitness and weight!
), I found the sails a lot easier and more powerful, I bought some recent gear (2nd hand), my main prob is to set myself in the foot straps as on my board (Isonic 133) they are positioned very strangely and not at the old fashioned spot,
I guess it is just about training?
In the old time I had a 6.5 m sail and used to be fine to 25 knot, I feel know to be overpowered with my 6.5 m and looking for a 5 m (cheap sail anybody????)
The size of a sail should be printed on it?? If not you can get pretty close multiplying the luff length by the tac and divide by 2.
Have fun!
