Just looking for some feed back on the Surf sail Australia monocoque carbon wave booms.
They seem well priced but I have never seen one here in Vic.
Ive had a few carbon booms from the leading manufactures and all have had some problem ex. rust, loose head, peeling grip even after spending big $$ 
Had one since 2010 bought in Geraldton, it has been dealt some average treatment and is still going strong! nothing has come loose and they are very stiff. Have had two other carbon wave booms of different brands to compare with and the surf sail competes with those two very well, and nearly half the price. The booms i would recommend apart from surf sail are over a grand.
Surf sail booms were made by Autima, and badged with the Surf Sail brand. I am pretty sure Autima (or e fu wu Taiwan, or whatever they were called!) no longer make windsurf gear.
I believe KA mono carbon booms were also made by Autima, together with some other brands such as Loft. If you see either of those in Vic, it will give you a good idea what to expect!
I have a mono carbon wave, and a mono carbon slalom. Both have been great - no problems with either... OK - one tiny problem - the double pin clips for adjusting boom length break every now and then, and need replacing every second season - small and not costly part!
The heads are easy to fit to the mast, and I like the pulley system on the tail.
I broke one carbon mono slalom - 175-235 cm size - completely my fault - went over the handle bars hard after hitting weed in shallow water (I am somewhere between 90 kg and 100 kg - so breakage is expected!). Replaced that one with a Surf Sail badged carbon mono (slalom size) and it has been good... so far...
Now, I'd better whip up there and buy that boom before you - just jokes
Had one for a couple of years, no problems whatsoever, rock solid, highly recommended.

But I think the cheaper one is 60% carbon and the normal priced one is 100% so make sure you check that out

Just ordered the 145-205 plan to use up to a 5.8 wave sail on it, so as long as its stiff and dosnt break I should be happy.
Mark I couldnt see any ref. to the exact carbon content, someone once told me that nothing is 100 % carbon as it would be to brittle, not sure if there's any truth in that.

Should have waited for the new Gaastra Carbon booms arriving in October - they are looking sweet and at $870 are very competitively priced
I have a 180 to 240 which I use on a 8m slalom sail, I think it's on it's 7th year now and going strong. I did replace the head witha maui sails head, I felt the stock one was a bit wobbly and fiddly.
Surf Sail booms are outstanding value for money, imo they are gold. I agree with Mark they may not be 100% carbon as they do feel a tad heavy but they are certainly bomb proof. I have replaced grip twice so far. Double pin system is also really secure - no chance of it coming out or wearing the hole as I have seen with some less "well endowed" pin systems. $439.... bargain!
