Maybe it will be used elsewhere, reducing the demand for carbon then?. That would be good for us....

Yes, I was thinking more as a core material. Light, machinable (for shaping), does not absorb water and hard to deform.

Unknowns: Stiffness, adhesion to resins, COST!!

At a cost of about $3million/cu.meter dont expect to see it used anytime soon.

Can anyone put me onto a 60kg/m3 PVC foam (like divinycell) that is cheap in block form not sheets....?

Else last resort a pourable polyurethane foam about 60-80kg/m3 (freerise density)

Foam-iT 5 (80kg/m3) is a pourable pu foam I'm using mainly for glueing inserts.
