Call for last orders.
Let's see. Friday night might get some lonely desperate entries and/or some fun filled pissed ones.
I will call it tomorrow.
Cheer up. Looks like we'll get a bit of wind tomorrow :)
The Mandurah Mob's Red Faces skit - "The Jackson Gybe" wasn't without controversy as one of them dared to impersonate a kiter.
International guest judge Laird Hamilton was outraged "sure once upon a time we used to string em up to a tree and segregate our beaches, but now getting caught doing that is real no-no,...why even one day I hope we see a kiter as the President".
Meanwhile, in America, Australian Deputy PM, Orange Roughie, defended the skit saying Australia was a tolerant place and that we even now accepted goat-boaters...although she did go on to say she wasn't that fond of wogs or dagos...
o.k. waveslave, if you can fit that red thing in your bum we promise we'll give you the spinnaker and the ironing board.
Time gentlemen please.
Well done nearly everybody. We've had some goodies as always. Four 5s, (two of them Richie's,) and a bunch of 4s.
Windxtasy got us off to a good start with a non-traditional allusion to sailors as heterosexual. Ha ha we all know better don't we.
Then Elmo jumped in with my personal fave. I dont know why. It just makes me laugh.
Followed by a somewhat under-rated entry from Mark who's comment about stoned sailors has the ring of authority.
Then Sausage leapt in with the first gratuitous insult to kiters and I think the first allusion to kiting in long pants in the glorious annals of the caption comp. He garnered the first high score :) It will all end in tears though. It always starts innocently enough, just a few harmless jokes and the next thing you know Harry Connick Jr is saying "You dress up in red and yellow shorts where I come from and its goodbye Red Faces"
Waterloo scored a well deserved 5 for his topical comment on the "space" thread.
Then we were treated to another excellent bit of topical kiter bigotry from Richie with a fine allusion to the dork who flew his kite into the rigging of a tall yacht :)
It occurs to me that its pointless and time consuming telling you what you just looked at so I will cut it short.
My second fave was a tie between Kiwibro's first comment about keeping the cabin boy up, and Windxtasy's playful and well written jibe at yours truly ![]()
Of course I can't let Greenleader's welcome reminder of that great old song "Friggin in the Riggin" pass without comment. Thanks for that Greenie. Nor can I ignore Benders pointing out the amazingly apposite similarity with the Mandura Mob. Maybe they need a faster boat :)
I'm torn but I have decided to give the awld mug to Elmo
Take it away Elmo. (I'm looking forward to this
)
