Hi all
I dug out the Formula kit today (first time for a while) and went for a slog up at Palm Beach. I'll admit the sail wasn't down hauled enough as I'm a wuss and couldn't get it all the way down. The sail was flat enough but even still I managed to pop all the cams of the mast after say 6 tacks upwind. Was it just the lack of downhaul causing this or do I need to tune the cams a bit?
Also, I was using a Pryde X-9 boom on the Point-7 (100% carbon) mast and I wasn't getting a good tight fit. Do I need a shim or will tensioning the rope on the lever get me there?
Thanks
P.S. I'll take my winch next time...
based on unifiber tables, Point 7 is CC tending towards hard top
NP is FLEXTOP
so yeah - wrong mast
careful with that hammer Eugene
High tension sails like point 7 needs a lot of downhaul. Neil prydes are the Same now l know why masts break on those type of sails
