CAR BOOT SALE !!
(I put this in the kitesurfing forum, but realised it involves everybody.)
howdy all.
I have been thinking of trying to organise a car boot sale / flea market sort of thing.
Kiteboarding, surfing, windsurfing, etc.
find a good spot, with park beach etc. Would be good for demo's, clinics, shops, bbq, family day .... you guys get the drift.
hopefully turn it into an annual or bi-annual event (start / end of season or both )
I have been told that SHQ Sandringham does something like this, but I'm thinking on a larger scale, involving more shops etc.
If I / we can get enough people behind it, perhaps it could be more like a wind exhibition / sale .
There are CAR shows, BIKE shows, CARAVAN shows..... sh**...even SEWING shows ......
......... but what is around for the WIND+BOARD community ??
just throwing it out there.
Think it would be good promotion for the sport/s.
It's not just an idea to sell all the crap at the back of my shed (it's a chance for you to sell all your old crap too
)
Are there any INDUSTRY SHOWS / EXHIBITIONS, open for only people who work in the kite + board industry?

We've been running a garage sale down at SHQ Boardsports in Sandringham 3 times a year since the early 80's. Always tons of gear and lots of bargains - plus lots of snags on the BBQ.
I reckon we do a pretty good job of getting rid of people's old gear and getting people on good new/second hand gear with expert advice thrown in.
It's our business but we also do it for the sport and community.
First one is coming soon - put it in your diary - second weekend of October.
Summer is just around the corner Yewww!

Many years ago one was organised for Lucky Bay (WA) and there was heaps of stuff.
Like to see one again, I'd go for sure
We've thought about doing one at lake illawarra, it's probably the perfect spot for NSW with heaps of room and the chance to sail right at the location. We'll have to make it happen....Anyone interested?
I bought my first mountain bike at a swap meet I'm Vancouver. I love the idea of this. Any excuse to get the windsurfing community together. Tom and I will come down for a drive. Good on you Jason!
