With torrential rain turning the Burrum river mouth into brown soup, the usually unmovable BH crew headed south in search of clean water. They found themselves at 'Paul's Place' on the northern side of the Urangan Pier. Conditions in the car park were no indication of true wind strength with most guys and gal rigging larger than necessary to get out through the wind shadow. Once away from the shore the SE wind was 20-25 knots and cross-off with 1-2 foot chop. Sunday was a repeat of Saturday with the addition of beers in the carpark at the end of the day.
Lots of new speed gear coming out of wrapping paper on the weekend should have the Morton Bay Mob looking scared when the speed competion comes to town in April. We have sailed the last three days in a row, and with several more days of 30-35 knots forecast out training regime is looking good for keeping the trophy in Burrum.
Here's the white van brigade on the road.
Left to Right, Ducati, Geoff, Porkchop, Greg.
