Just came in to Burrum Heads. Never been here. Man it looks good. Local dog walker says I'm good to go. Any local sailors heading here today, or wanna chat and give me some tips?

Success!
So happy to jag a sail there driving past. Yesterday I was there and hesitated long enough to watch the tide rise and chop wash over the bank.
Lighter winds today and I was there early for low tide.
Rigged and ready to go as Geoff got in touch and confirmed, indeed, go!
The Good: It was so good I couldn't help make happy noises to myself flying along that sand bank magical mile.
The bad: I had to leave early and make tracks for home. On the Last run there was no squally gusts to get me going so I canned it. So that's not bad really.
The ugly: big gusts when I first went out, my hat ripped off and I didn't even know till later as I was so in the zone.
I found that hat so I guess it's not that ugly loosing it.
I was on SLW 165 board with Ezzy Cheetah 8.5. First I tried fangy fin, and had one of my infamous unhooked catapults. Maybe that's when the hat went.
Then switched to 55 pointer.
Then downhauled more.
Then it was sweet. Then it wasn't enough.
I guess up here in these winds it's about riding the squall gusts?
Different for me as where I'm from we usually come in when rain squalls come.
