I got catapulted this morning. Not sure what happened, but I broke the harness line and the boom got a bit bent, maybe a 2-3cm deflection from straight. It's a 4 year old duotone silver line with the ovalised Al tube.
Any suggestion how to salvage it? Will it be strong enough with the slight bend to use for foiling?

One thing for sure, straightening it will weaken it.
Could well be fine to keep using.
Is it a gradual bend over several centimeters, or a sharp kink.
A sharp kink could be a problem, but a gradual bend should be OK

Just buy a new one....it's not worth the risk.

If it's an alloy boom - No f...... way! Get rid of it - or risk an unexpected crash that may put you in hospital like my boom did

Straightening = catastrophe.

Yeah all true above but for foiling with no hard pumping
go for it

Thanks Mark. That's great advice. Since I'm very low on the learning curve for foiling, I'll take it.
This is what we call confirmation bias.

Not an obvious kink, just looks like it has been stretched outwards from where the front attachment of the harness line sits.
Maybe it got an even pull on both ends of the line before one side broke.

The foil is gonna hurt you anyway so a dodgy boom isn't making it more dangerous

After breaking most carbon booms, my buddy now only rides alloy booms that are all bent. He says he likes them better that way !
