I'm looking at buying a new 160-210 boom (looking on the net is doing my head in ). It's for my 6.5 race sail, and occasional use with my 5.3 freeride sail. My main requirement is it needs to be wide, and have the shape of a 4 piece boom. It's width needs to be at least 44cm at it's widest point. I'm not interested in Monocoque. I'll go carbon if I need to, but want to get an aluminium boom (carbon booms have features I don't use - ie strength and lightness). If anyone has a purchased a boom in the past few months that meets the above description, I'll be keen to know what you have.

J I picked up an older fiberspar carbon pretty cheap a while back in that size and use it only on my 6.6, it measures 48 wide inside to inside. works sweet.
before that I always used surfsail Aus booms from the west at 180 bucks just changed them every season and gave the old one away to a mate.

what ya looking to get out at the next slalom day at boggy, might see you there.

Thanks to those that replied (JB and PM's).

JB: Probably not. I had my annual Boggy intake last weekend, but one day we'll meet again
