I have just bought an old Bombora South Pacific that is in good condition apart from a 20mm split in the skin on the underside.
What is the recommended self repair? Will a small hot soldering iron melt it back together or shall i use a flexible sealant such as Sikaflex.

Does anyone have practical experience??

hit an undamaged area of the board with a hammer firmly.

if it bounces off then rough up the damaged area with a rough file and use epoxy ding stick like selleys knead-it and fill the damaged area.

if the hammer enters the board and the surface seems brittle.

game over.

landfill.

DavMan, Don't know what caused the ding as I only discovered it after getting the board home & washing it after buying it. I suspect that it was coused by being dropped while handling in the garage.
