Just a general household cleaning product, or what's your favourite ? White board, dirty hand marks etc. Anything to avoid?

Ajax or Jif.
Cleans and just enough abrasive to scrub stuff off.

I try to use large quantities of sea water and best done 3 or 4 times a week. :)

i had had a a board repairer re grip my board. He cleaned it first, I watched him do it. He brushed on some liquid on out of an old milk bottle, brushed it down to help it penetrate and then hoseit off. It came out like new, even the yellowing off the white areas. He said it was citric acid ( used as dishwasher de scaler ). He said that oxalic acid works the same.

I was trying to think of the product that others have used, and it was 'Gumption'. It seemed to turn the faded white sections back to white.

Oxalic acid would do it, as above. You use it diluted to wash algae slime off hulls.
Bunning sells it, and you can often buy it cheaper as normal timber deck wash.
