Has anyone ever tried windsurfing on the Blowering Damn near Tumut in NSW?

I see an old post from 2007 where this question was asked by a member called Susie, but it was never followed up.

We live near the damn and I want to give it a try, but seeking advice and information before investing in gear.

Thanks.

i've never sailed Blowering, but Jindabayne is lots of fun at times and I assume it would be similar. All inland lakes also have lots of calms, of course.

No, but I've had great sailing on Glenbawn, Keepit, Copeton, Malpas, Jindabyne and Burrendong. You nearly always have the water for yourself, I love the remote feel of it. I own short boards but have nearly always used my LT inland. There were days when short board would've worked but the LT is fun in a breeze and still nice in lighter airs. Great for exploring: the LT on roof opens up all sorts of waterways.
Short answer: can't see why not. Don't over complicate it just do it!

As delmar said, the beautiful remote feel of it makes it worth a try. Get the right gear for the place and I'm sure windsurfing will happen there.
