Hi all. I have recently started windsurf racing again (LT's) and I'm looking to upgrade my seat harness. I have recently got a new life-jacket because the previous one was too bulky around my shoulders and I chose the Viakobi V3.
Now my issue is that with the water bottle in the new lifejacket, the back of the jacket tends to push the harness down a bit and the shoulder straps are as short as they will go.
I'm therefore looking for a harness to suit 90 - 100 kg's (bit of a beer gut
) with maybe a lower cut top section? My current harness is a Prolimit Rambler and is maybe 10 years old but very comfortable.
Looking forward to your recommendations...
HEY jethrow, i've had a few pro limit ones myself .no bad ...but the last two have been DAKINE seat harness ..very comfy ..
i have the high back one .
Thanks Pacey, yeah the Pod looks the go, with the cut down back. Similar looking to it is the Mystic Race BOA
and Tardy, I do like the DaKine but they all looked a bit high backed to suit my new setup.
I'm heading down to WSS to check out their range and I'll go from there.

Hey Jethrow
howd you go with Harness at WSS? I had a Prolimit xl not sure what model but 5-10 years old with an orange pin line around it on black body. Is yours the same?
left my harness behind last weekend at Narrabeen and it appears to be lost forever! Looking for a new one myself. Mine needs to be a generous XL LIKE my Prolimit was, I even customised it with shoulder straps to keep hook from disappearing below my beer and Cadburys belly! Damn!
also lost life jacket and cap! Will need to get another cap as well for SA, EXPECTING SEARING HEAT off to BCF TODAY!

That's a bugger to hear about the harness & lifejacket Alby. I don't remember seeing then but I cleared out pretty quick once the wife arrived to pick me up.
As for ducking down to WSS, as per usual I have the time to go down today but I'm on the motorbike, so I'm waiting to see if the rain will go away for a little bit. Not that I'm complaining about the rain ![]()
Pacey, I ended up going with the Severn POD harness and got to semi use it today. Not seriously leaving into it but it is definitly about 100mm lower down my back than my Rambler so that ticks the box with regard to it getting pushed down by the lifejacket. It seems pretty comfortable to wear going upwind not hooked in and good support when lightly hooked in. Will have to see how it goes in stronger winds but it looks the go at the moment.
