Broken plenty of booms in my time, all chinook which i still think are good both carbon and ali and now have the carbon surf and sail as u showed Gaz, it is a great boom and a steal and $500
I have an Aeron ali wave boom - 29mm. I have had it for 3-4 seasons and sail waves regularily (Mainly Scarbs and lano, i have also used it at margs, gnaraloo and gero). I have weighed between 80 and 90kg for all that time. It is still going strong (except for the grip which has been ripped up a bit due after being damaged at buckets last winter). I cant remember what I paid for it, just that it was cheap and reccomended by a few others that used them at the time I bought them.
Have an Aeron and Gun mono ali boom. Both great, well made, stiff, good clamp - although Gun is cheaper and more comfy.
