what is the best replacement boom head for fibrespar 160-208. I think the head is 32mm

I tried to buy one of those Maui Sails heads earlier this year, I couldn't get one anywhere. In the end I ordered one direct from Maui Sails. That failed to arrive. I believe they suit 37 or 40mm booms. What size is the one you have Shannon?
The Severne heads work well and should be a nice fit for a 32mm boom tube. The Mauisails heads that I have used it past fits better for larger diameters (around 37mm if I remember correctly).
There used to be a video someplace of Phil McGain showing how to increase the diameter of your boom head a bit to fit the MS head. Short version is a few wraps of glass/epoxy and then wrap with electric tape until it sets.
Yeah I checked this morning and I used some plastic to shim it out. In the video the guy used a bit of finger glass or carbon fiber to wrap the boom and make it the right size.

Berowne, that Point 7 head looks nice, but postage to Au is not cheap. Are you thinking of ordering one?
I would recommend pulling off the fs boom head first to be sure the MS will fit. My experience was that I ordered the MS boom head before doing so. Once removed I discovered that the indentation of the boom where the head was mounted was too narrow for the MS boom head. Ordered a Severne which fit.
