Yesterday at Corros Ben Proffitt suffered a painful shoulder injury during a pushloop, here's a short clip of what happened and the aftermath.
AC shoulder separation they say, x-rays don't look pretty.
faaarrrrkkkk meeeee,
Deano, Colin, the cool dude from Jordan and I sat and watched him the night before as the sun was setting and the wind was blowing close to 35 knots. He was pulling the most amazing tweaked pushies I have ever seen. He was landing some planing!!!
I hope the damage is not too bad.
Chin up Ben.
Brings back unpleasant memories of a distal collarbone fracture requiring a bone graft and large titanium screw at the same spot and a painful drive to the hospital. (I wasn't doing anything as radical!).
Hope that your recovery is speedy, Ben. I am sure you will be just as good a patient as Justyna.
Sh!t happens I suppose.
But ….
…We will welcome you back at the commentary box at the PWA.
Get well soon Benny.![]()
A big finish for the promised Carnage video?
Sounds like a bad injury to have from what I read. I hope they have good treatment available and Ben can be a good/successful patient.
Its a real shame as the training had been going so well.
Ben's been "ripping the bags out of it "over the past month @ corro - hope all goes well with your recovery mate.![]()
Pro level windsurfing seems to take a fair old toll on the body. I'll settle for a sweet gybe and the odd chop-hop.
Are you sure it was the pushloop that did most of the damage or the ride to hospital in that POS van ?
I got a lift in that van while Troppo was mild mannerly driving it between Wedge and Cervantes one day... almost needed chiropractic manipulation to re-align my spine !
Shoulders are up there with knees in terms of pain and extensive recovery, all the best with the recovery Mr P
Not an uncommon windsurfing injury that will probably require some metal hardware to keep it together.
I strained mine last year learning to waterstart on an 8M, weight training has healed it completely. Makes me think building up the shoulders and upper chest is good prevention.
