At the prim age of 50 Japan will be his last PWA race www-dailydose-de.translate.goog/news-antoine-albeau-pwa-karriereende-20221110.htm?_x_tr_sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc, amazing, among all his other racing achievements, that he could still be ultra competitive just 2-3 ago
That is a good time to leave, when you are still winning, everyone will remember him as a winner to the end! Very smart.
The Guy is a machine, built like the Hulk.saw him in Costa Bravo back in 2013, braving it out in high winds.55 knots bullets coming through.he won that race. I'm sure he will stick around for many years to come.
He was always on 1m bigger sails than me. Board sounded like a jackhammer when it comes up behind you...
One of the nicest guys on tour. A lot more approachable than Dunky... haha

I watched Antoine and Guy Cribb land at Poole after sailing 110km over the English Channel from France. Guy looked a bit knackered, Antoine strolled up the beach like he had been out for a quick blast around. Antoine was on 7.2 & medium board, Guy on 5.8m and small 80l slalom board. It was windy that day, I had just done my 3rd fastest speeds over at Portland Harbour speed strip on nice flat water. What a day for them to do that trip, no easy sailing, they did it in style.
His PWA record speaks for itself, multi discipline titles. Legend.

I'd read about that session online and it sticks with me. Guy was talking about that even as a pro how much more sail AA could hold down comfortably. Echoing other comments about his longevity, professionalism and demeanor. Also was watching a clip from Japan where he was on a foil in very windy conditions coming in second in a heat. He was willing to change with the times as well even late in his career.
Best wishes on his future endeavors.

That was truly impressive. I think it says a lot for this sport in general too, as there are plenty I know that still get out that are much older than Albeau.
Truly great to see someone still competing that well at 50!
They (windsurfingtv) mentioned if there is a PWA in france antoine will be doing it?, so this possibly isn't the last one!
