Why are people red-thumbing that video?

Can you imagine how much research, training and balls went into that production?

Freeriders have been aquaplanning their moto-x bikes since the first crusty demons of the dirt movies in the late 90's. Robby Maddison has just multiplied the risk and difficulty by 1000 times. It's not like moto-wave ridding is ever going to become mainstream in fact most of us will never see it in real time in our lifetime. So you can't seriously be worried that it's going to ruin a peaceful surf or damage the environment!

Feats like that just pump me up and keep me in awe of what risk taking guys on the fringe will do for their next adrenaline kick.

Hats off to you Mr Maddison, good show!

I wasn't one of the red thumbers...but still reckon it's just a bit strange. Skilful... Yes. But...Maybe i'm missing something...

When they can figure out a way to do that on the water, but also risk all the people on the beach and downwind for a few hundred metres, it may get popular.

The red thumbs comes from it just not being cool.1:24-1:26 basically sums it up.

There's something very sad about that video. You know... Just because you can, doesnt mean you should.

1:24-1:26 basically sums up at least five of my favorite things in life.

Blue skies, oceans, watersports, motorbikes and girls.

How would it fair in a drake race with a jet ski? Either way, only one of them has any longevity in a salt water environment.
